Personal Banker/Client Service Representative


We are currently seeking a Personal Banker/Client Service Representative to work out of our Howards Grove branch. As a Client Service Representative, you function as the bank’s primary contact with our clients to help them achieve their financial goals and dreams. The Personal Banker/Client Service Representative makes superior service a top priority and strives to make decisions that best serve the clients while balancing the needs of the bank. This role is responsible for opening deposit accounts, performing teller transactions, and responding to clients’ needs.

Hours of Work

  • This position can be either a full-time or part-time position. Work hours would be between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
  • Cleveland State Bank may be flexible and willing to work with the potential candidates on the exact detail of hours being filled by these positions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet, acknowledge and serve clients in a sincere, positive, and professional manner. This position is typically the first contact with the bank and must be taken seriously and be a positive experience for the client.

  • Actively services client transactions and recognizes situations that suggest a client’s need for additional services.

  • Works directly with clients, and manages a cash drawer. This also involves the receipt and payment of negotiable instruments.

  • Handles client inquiries or concerns.

  • Working with fellow employees in a sincere, positive, and professional manner is required to maintain autonomy and accomplish efficient solutions to problems, projects, and goals.

  • Receives checking and savings deposits/withdrawals, checks endorsements, verify cash in/out, and issues receipts.

  • Accepts checks for cashing; verifies endorsements, validity, and availability of funds.

  • Receives various types of payments, redeems savings bonds, issues money orders, and cashier’s checks opens and closes accounts, prepares miscellaneous documentation, etc., including client account errors, so the client can be contacted.

  • Researches and responds in a prompt manner to client problems and missing or incorrect transactions. Notifies the Deposit Operations Manager of any errors, including client account errors.

  • Recognizes the financial needs of the Bank’s clients and professionally suggests and promotes (either in-person or by telephone) appropriate products to meet those needs, including the cross-selling of the Bank’s other available products and referring clients to appropriate internal resources.

  • Prepares transactions for processing. Counts, verifies, and packages currency and balances cash drawer.

  • Receives client information, verifies client validity and identity, enters data into the bank’s system, and ensures accuracy of documentation.
